Description
Door-stops and pivot brackets for the old style bookcases variously known as sectional bookcases, stacking bookcases or lawyers bookcases. Brass plated steel. Unit includes 2 door-stops (bushings on their screws) and 2 pivot brackets and their screws. Sold in pairs.
Installed at the top front area inside the side walls of the section (brackets installed on door, stops installed on frame at the front end of the liner). When a closed door is pulled out, the brackets pivot on the stops until door is horizontal and can be pushed inside the bookcase.
Made from the late 19th century onward by companies like Globe-Wernicke, Macey and others, the bookcases with the retractable glass doors became very popular around the world. These versatile bookcases came in several standard depths, and were given add-ons to adapt them for different functions and styles. We have made available again all the parts, with their fasteners, needed to restore a section.
